Thank you to Tenderfeet friends who have inquired about the status of the school after the recent terrorist attack.
It has been a very difficult time in Kenya, with the terrorist group al-Shabab making several attacks over the past few years. The most recent one in Eastern Kenya on the Garissa University students was so horrible, but fortunately is far from any Tenderfeet students.
I spoke with Mama Margaret yesterday and she said the area where they live and have the school has been very peaceful and is unlikely to be attacked in the future.
She also said that security at areas that are targeted is much higher than in the past, so she thinks the Kenyan government is taking the right steps. Although we can never be sure when or if it will happen again, we believe that with God’s help, the kids and teachers will remain safe.
